Definitions and Applicability

1.1. These general terms and conditions apply to all services offered by Urban Monks, registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 91639352 and with VAT identification number NL004906771B33. This includes, but is not limited to, Qigong classes, Qigong events, Qigong retreats, and therapy consultations.  

1.2. The "participant" is defined as a person who registers for or participates in one of the services of Urban Monks.

1.3. By participating in a service provided by Urban Monks, the participant agrees to the applicability of these general terms and conditions and the studio's house rules.

 

Article 2 - Registration and Membership

2.1. Registration for classes and services takes place online via the Urban Monks website.

2.2. Upon registration, the participant can choose from the offered membership models, including the subscription.

2.3. The subscription has a minimum contract duration of three (3) months and is entered into for an indefinite period, unless expressly agreed otherwise.

 

Article 3 - Payment and Rates

3.1. The tuition fee for the subscription is paid quarterly in advance via direct debit.

3.2. Payments for workshops, events, retreats, and therapy consultations must be made in accordance with the instructions on the website or the invoice.

3.3. The agreed tuition fee may be increased once a year. Urban Monks will notify the participant of this in writing at least one month in advance.  

3.4. No refund of already paid tuition fees will be given. This also applies to missed classes, regardless of the reason for absence.  

 

Article 4 - Cancellation and Termination

4.1. The subscription has a minimum contract duration of three months and cannot be terminated within this period.

4.2. After the initial contract duration of three months, the participant can terminate the subscription with a notice period of at least two (2) weeks.  

4.3. Termination must be in writing, by email to info@urbanmonks.nu.

4.4. The termination must be received no later than two (2) weeks before the start of the new quarter. The subscription will then terminate at the end of the respective quarter.

4.5. Cancellation of Workshops & Events: For workshops and events, no refund policy applies. Tickets or participations that have been purchased cannot be refunded or exchanged.

4.6. Cancellation of Retreats: In case of cancellation of a retreat up to 6 weeks before the start, 50% of the costs will be refunded. In case of cancellation within 6 weeks before the start, no refund is possible.

4.7. Cancellation of Therapy Consultations: Appointments for therapy consultations must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. In case of cancellation within 24 hours or in case of a no-show, the full amount of the consultation will be charged.

 

Article 5 - Classes and Conduct

5.1. Classes are practiced barefoot or with indoor shoes. Practicing in socks on a smooth floor can cause injuries.  

5.2. During classes, phones must be switched off or silenced and put away.  

5.3. Participants are expected to adhere to the studio's house rules and etiquette, as stated on the Urban Monks website, including the obligation to be on time and to avoid strong scents.  

5.4. In case of irregular practice, the participant is responsible for the consequences, including frustration and injuries. Urban Monks does not offer the possibility to make up for missed classes.  

 

Article 6 - Health and Liability

6.1. Participation in classes and activities of Urban Monks is entirely at the participant's own risk.  

6.2. The participant must inform the instructor before the class begins about any injuries, physical limitations, or other medical conditions, such as pregnancy. The instructor reserves the right to deny participation in a class based on these notifications.  

6.3. The participant is obliged to follow the instructor's instructions, taking into account the possibilities and limitations of their own body. Urban Monks is not liable for any damage, injury, or accidents resulting from not following these instructions.  

6.4. Urban Monks is not liable for theft, loss, or damage to the participant's personal belongings, either inside or outside the studio space. Valuables are best left at home.  

 

Article 7 - Privacy and Data Protection

7.1. Urban Monks processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

7.2. The participant is deemed to have read the Urban Monks privacy statement, which can be found on the website https://www.urbanmonks.nu/privacyverklaring.

 

Article 8 - Changes and Deposition

8.1. Urban Monks reserves the right to unilaterally change these general terms and conditions. Changes will be communicated to the participants in writing or by email and will take effect at least one month after the announcement.

8.2. These general terms and conditions have been deposited with the Chamber of Commerce.

8.3. The general terms and conditions are made available to the participant digitally and can also be viewed on the website. For online registrations, the participant must agree to the terms by checking a box.
